Accepted- reader insert

Piercing purple eyes stared straight down into your soul.  Your body trembled uncontrollably. You wanted to rip away from that man's gaze, but couldn't. His eyes were fixated on you.

Only you.

Placing your hands on the keys, you glanced around nervously. This was the moment you'd been training for since you were four. The moment you'd audition to get into the most prestigious music college in all of Austria. Inhaling deeply, you slowly began to play.

The voice of the piano filled the stale room you sat in. It resonated softly then swelled into a forceful tidal wave of melodies and harmonies.

The song slowly came back down as it ended, a new wave of fear flushing out your other emotions. Lifting your fingers gently of the keys, you glanced shyly at your judge.

His expression was exactly the same as when you started. It looked as though he actually never moved at all. The sullen look he held was all you needed to know you had failed.

Head hung low; you quietly gathered up your music and stood to leave. Your silent judges produced a pen and pad out of his coat and quickly scribbled on it before placing it back inside.

"Thank you for coming in today." He offered his hand as he stood. "You can expect a letter from us within a week."

You shook it, defeated.

"I'll look for it. Thank you for your time."

A week passed slowly, everyday a grueling reminder you'd have to continue waiting for your rejection. The letter finally arrived but you were less then excited to open it. You procrastinated opening it, unsure if you have the stomach to handle the rejection.

Knowing you couldn't wait forever; you slowly opened the letter, alone, and read.
